As a first time CEO, I use Eric as a sounding board for everything from hiring to fund raising and his guidance and intuition are usually on the mark. I had heard so much about the value Eric adds to the company but never understood what it means for an investor and a board member to add that much value. That simply does not happen much in the valley. Well Eric is a counter to that. I cannot tell you *how much* value he adds. When you think of involving Eric in your company do not think of it as involving a board member or an investor - think of it as involving someone who will be involved in guiding and counseling the CEO on the company's marketing, product development, sales and biz dev. And rarely do you find someone who understands technology as much as they understand people, sales and marketing. Eric is that rare person although he is too modest about it. Zimbra has benefited enormously from having Eric Hahn involved and I would absolutely say that you are lucky to have him be involved in any way in your company.
